Oats and banana for 6 months old or older.

Oatmeal is a brilliant food idea for babies who have started eating solid food. Oats  are rich in nutrients such as fiber, proteins, and vitamins. Oats is a good start but some babies can be allergic to oats like many other types of food.

  • Always watch out for allergic reaction when giving your baby solid food. 

What you need:


breast milk or baby milk


Directions :

Sock oat for about 10 to 15 minutes

drain excess water off and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes

Add a small amount of breast milk or baby milk

Add a small portion of mash banana and mix

A serving of oatmeal  gives children a little over 12 percent of the daily recommended intake of protein and about 20 percent of the current recommended intake of calcium.

How to get your baby started with solid meal. Giving your baby solid food is a big step and knowing what to give to your baby is very important because you don’t want your baby to have a bad diet or have allergy reaction from food or drinks. 

Most babies are ready to begin solid food as a compliment to breast-feeding between the age of 4 – 6 months. Breast feeding is still a very important source of nutrients from the age of six months and is recommended that parents can gradually add solid food to boost energy, development and growth of the baby. 

In addition to the age, there are signs that shows your baby is ready for his first bite such as: your baby can hold his head in upright position and can sit. 

Research and talk to your pediatrician on food to give and don’t give items. 

A child under the age of one cannot digest the enzymes and proteins in some food so be careful and smart when thinking of food to give to your baby.

  • Cow milk 
  • Egg
  • Citrus fruits 
  • Salt 
  • Sugar 
  • Soft drinks 
  • Fruits juice 
  • Peanut butter
